“CHRISTMAS IN VIRGINIA is about second chances and preconceptions and misgivings. Basically, though, it's a love story that teaches two people to give themselves, and each other, a second chance at what could be a real opportunity for happiness. …CHRISTMAS IN VIRGINIA has all the elements of a contemporary erotic romance that make it both enjoyable and passionate. Give it a try, and find out if spending "Christmas in Virginia" is your cup of tea.”

Mlyn Hurn’s Christmas in Virginia is a heartwarming story of two people finding love again. Both Jack and Laena have suffered losses. The author displays all the emotions that Jack and Laena go through to find love again, from intrusive relatives and exes that will not leave them alone, to the doubt that plagues their minds. This was a wonderful story that I could not put down.

Christmas in Virginia is stellar contemporary romance that will leave readers looking for Mlyn Hurn’s other titles. Ms. Hurn provides romance, hot sex scenes, a scheming ex-husband and family humor making Christmas in Virginia a book that I can’t recommend highly enough. This was my first opportunity to read Ms. Hurn’s work but it certainly won’t be the last.

All in all, I found this an ok, but not stellar read. I enjoyed the great relationship between Ruth and Laena and the way that Jack took responsibility for his feelings towards Laena despite familial pressures to keep it platonic. Additionally, Jack gave Laena the affection and love she’d longed for in the past few years. Likewise, Laena was able to help Jack relax from his high pressure job and focus on the importance of family. Yet at times, I felt the story dragged on in detailed descriptions and there were times when I felt the dialogue a bit stilted. However the plot was interestin
g, characters charming and overall I found the story entertaining.
